How Does PRP Hair Restoration Work?

PRP hair restoration uses an advanced technique to stimulate hair follicles for stronger, more robust hair growth. Hair follicles that are not producing hair may not actually be dead, but rather injured, compromised, or dormant. Growth factors found within platelet-rich plasma can activate adult stem cells in non-producing hair follicles, promote cell growth, and encourage the formation of new blood vessels to carry blood and nutrients to regenerated follicles.

About The Treatment

Before treatment begins, a local anesthetic is used to numb the target areas of the scalp. Using a fine needle, PRP is injected into the scalp, concentrating on the areas that display the most severe hair loss. Injections are administered in a specific pattern to maximize the regenerative effects of the PRP treatment.

After The Treatment

Most patients experience minimal discomfort after PRP hair restoration injections, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain medications. There may be mild swelling of the forehead for one or two days after the procedure. Avoid intense physical activity until the swelling has completely subsided. Normal hair washing can begin immediately after treatment.
